KWS Delivers Special AR400 Trough Liners During Shutdown

Introduction

Georgia-Pacific (GP) is one of the world’s largest manufacturers of paper and building products. The mill in Diboll, Texas produces both wood products and composite panels for the commercial and home construction industry. Screw conveyors are used throughout the process for conveying wood chips, sawdust, and resins.

Challenge

During an annual inspection and shutdown, when the GP maintenance crew was replacing screw conveyors it was determined that trough liners needed to be replaced as well. Having only two days left in their shutdown and now needing abrasion resistant AR400 liners, GP was in a tough spot. The new liners would need to be manufactured and delivered within the next 24 hours in order to complete the necessary work for the shutdown.

KWS Advantage

A KWS Technical Sales Specialist developed a successful plan, working late into the night with the GP maintenance supervisor. In less than 8 hours KWS manufactured and shipped the special AR400 trough liners. The KWS shipping department made sure a dedicated truck delivered directly to the jobsite with no delay. The KWS sales department provided critical updates to GP throughout the process, ensuring complete success.
